SUMMARY:Sackville and Truro Concert Bands Joint Concert
DESCRIPTION:The Truro Concert Band joins forces with the Sackville Concert Band for a joint concert! The concert will feature a variety of music – something for everyone! The bands will play individually for 30 minutes each and then join together in a special musical tribute to the late Jean McKenzie who spent more than 30 years supporting music in the Truro School system and contributing to the Nova Scotia Band Association\, Musicfest and the Nova Scotia Youth Wind Ensemble. Jean Mackenzie could easily have been called the mother\, the grandmother and the great-grandmother of Truro’s School Bands. \nThere will be a free-will donation accepted at the door with proceeds divided equally between the Nova Scotia Band Association’s James H. Hargreaves Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Ron MacKay “Music for Life” Award. \n
