SUMMARY:Band Together - Joint Concert - 9AM Band and SCB
DESCRIPTION:The Sackville Community Band Society is pleased to present a concert with both its ensembles in the Halifax Central Library at 2:00 pm on Saturday\, April 15\, 2023. \nThis concert\, last held in 2019\, has the bands returning to what had become an annual performance prior to COVID. The concert begins at 2:00 pm with the 9am Band followed by the Sackville Concert Band. Between individual performances the bands will join to present the 2022 Canadian Band Association Howard Cable Memorial Prize Composition winner “King Arthur’s Ride” by Alberta composer and performing artist Sam VanderWoude. \nThis will mark the first time the Society’s ensembles have combined.\nThe 9am Band is directed by Danielle Chute while the Sackville Concert Band is directed by Jim Forde.
